Tears in Music.

Goldfinch60

Why does it happen to me?

Suddenly I hear some music

And my world stops

As the sound penetrates my mind,

Goes through my heart

Into my soul.

The tears flow from my eyes

As music so wonderful

Reaches me from the heart of the player

As she blows the wonder of her music

Into the ether,

And forever for me to bathe

In the wonder of her sound.

  • Comment from author about the poem: A couple of days ago when I was looking for a YouTube video to put with my poem What Life Should Be I found the Andrea Motis video that I put on. I had listened to this and have done several times since and I found it so moving, I therefore make no apologies for putting on here again.

KIndred spirit, it has similar effect upon me too. As a young man i was a singer in bands/groups but these days i find it hard to sing some songs without becoming emotionally involved LOL... whats it all about?... mind you, i can't half milk a blues number still.

Music has this ability to bring all emotions to us, it probably only happens to those who really listen to music and care.

And me too. Not that I know many pop songs since about, ooh, 1990. But some crooning ones start me off.

You introduced me to AM a while back and I'm grateful - this is a super track and your words do it full justice.

IF MUSIC BE THE FOOD OF LOVE - PLAY ON !

ANGELA HERE - Good Sabbath Uncle Andy - Im off till Monday it feels like Heaven compared to the HOSPITAL with more people (especially 70+) dying of COVID 19 each day. It seems a sad way to go especially after a full & useful life.
Music is a great LACRYMATOR and Brian & I find this - especially when we do Jim Reeves Concerts for Seniors. They of often say *A Good Crydown memory lane - releases the tensions of Life !* Ask Alexa for Jim Reeves (250 tracks) and it plays all day !
Being half-Spanish I agree with you about ANDREA MOTIS (25 in May) a unique Voice and a unique touch on Sax & Trumpet. She cut her first Album @ 15. Spain is very proud of Her - thanks for highlighting - AMEN ! Hope you are coping in LOCKDOWN. Please check our Poems about WORDS - Thanks. 💛💛💛

Blessings & Peace to You & Yours
          Love Angela & Brian
