R McG
I know that some will surely scoff
but there’s a poet to whom I doff
my flat tweed cap
a sterling chap
the English poet Roger McGough.

So do I Michael, fabulous poet whose poem 'The Railings' was the first I came across and it drew me to him, read many of them since.
Andy
I've got several of his collections and love them all.
Good write and pic M. You know McGough Berles? I'm being daft now!
Just had lunch - time for a sleep and a Drib Berles.
To smile at each mornings pun
and give Van Gough a fair run
theres a poet i read
not quite the old Bede
yep Michael Edward's the one.
Hope i got the apostrophe right on that one.
apostrophes okay by me
Cheers muchly dusk.
Brian here ~ GOOD MORNING UNCLE MICHEAL ! Roger McGough one of the best of the Liverpool Poets ! Last time I heard him ~ he told us all to get comfortable for one of his longer Poems ~
When all is Said & Done
Theres nothing more
To be SAiD or DONE !
Awesome best recited in a Posh Scouce Accent ~ Like to one we use for Wedding Toasts etc etc. Roger is good example of a performance Poet !
Blessings & Peace to You & Yours
Love BRIAN & ANGELA ๐งก๐ค๐
He's come a long way since Lilly the Pink.
IMHO the best of the Liverpool poets.
