Pot of Gold.

Goldfinch60

I look across the land through the rain,

The sky brightens as the sun shines.

There in front of me is a rainbow,

Its colours bring joy to my mind.

I look for the rainbows end

Knowing that a pot of gold is there.

I start walking towards the rainbows end.

As I walk I have my ups and downs in life,

Until that time when I reach the rainbows end.

I look back at the wonder of my colourful life,

Knowing that I have found that pot of gold

In the life I have led to reach this place,

This place of wonder and fulfilment,

My wonderful life, my pot of gold.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Having just read Neville's poem ' No Pot of Gold' I made the comment "That pot of gold may not be there but the journey towards the end of that rainbow will be filled with wonder in our lives." - I thought there is a poem in those words so I wrote this.

Could only have been written by a person of strong character, positivity and spirituality.
A crock of gold or a reflection of one's life.

A very deep thought; Life's reflection as the final reward. You have expressed it here colorfully. A brilliant piece. Loved it. - Phuil A.
