Saturday Meal.

Goldfinch60

Well Saturday evening was here again,

What shall I cook tonight?

I know I’ll have some salmon.

So there it was sitting on the plate,

Salmon fried in butter

Sitting on turmeric rice

That had been laced with cumin.

The salmon covered with a sauce,

A sauce of mushrooms

Made with white wine and cream cheese.

I took my first  mouthful,

A wonderful taste,

I ate some more.

Then had a sip of wine,

A rather fine white wine.

All went down so well,

But it would have been so much better,

If I wasn’t eating alone.

    Good write and poignant Gold.
Don't invite me though. I would bring water along for the wine!

Thanks Orchi. You wouldn't be able to reach the wine where I put it!

Yes dear Andy - a meal shared always did taste better - that salmon and rice though sounds so yummy.

Thanks Fay, yes the salmon and ice was very good. Saturday nights were and are times when I would experiment with cooking and most the time it worked very well.

        Well Andy
        You made our mouths water
        And then our eyes water
        Orchi's turning water into wine
        What is going on...?
Great emotive write I bet you weren't alone... with a full heart

          Thanks Andrew.
Orchi's idea was to turn wine into water, not a good idea as far as i am concerned.

I turn wine into water regularly
That's easy... just takes an hour or two at my age

Just how I like it but - as you say - best shared . stay safe Andy.

Thanks Michael. You stay safe as well.

            • ANGELA & BRIAN

GOOD EVENING Uncle Andy - Angela Here - Love the Menu can we come ? Loved the tribute to Vincent Van Gogh and the visuals. He is one of my fave Painters - always painted from the heart. We can empathise (to some extent) with your Poem. All the things I experienced in NZ for 15 months I would have loved to have shared vis-a-vis with BRIAN. Also it was only by getting married (with just our Parents as Witnesses) that we are able to live together now. Our Evening Meal togther (cooked by Brian !) is always one of our most precious Times together each day ! Self Isolation is more irksome for those that live alone. You are in our Hearts - AMEN.

Love & Blessings to You & Yours
              Love Angela & Brian 💛💛💛💛💛

Thank you for your kind words Angela, those Saturday evening meals with Joyce and I together were always so special.
