Tune: Engelberg
('All praise to thee, for thou, O King divine')
Psalm 106 v.1-5
*******
Praise you the LORD, O give thanks to the LORD
For He is good, and faithful to His word
His mercy endures even evermore
We can trust in Him sure
Who can utter all the LORD's mighty deeds?
He comes unto us, satisfies our needs
And who can show forth all His praises here?
Yet we to Him draw near
Blessed are they that keep judgement and justice
And thy that always do righteousness, this
Pleasing to the LORD, he will such bless
'Tis true, we do confess
Remember me, LORD, with your favour, grace
Visit me with your salvation, I trace
Your goodness, make glad the nation, so we
Join to praise your glory

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 10.10.10.6. metre. The original has a long 'Alleluia' as the last line of each verse. I changed it to a 6 syllable line. The title says 'preamble' because most of the rest of the Psalm is not on such a happy theme.
