Profitable Progress

orchidee

Tune: St Magnus

('The head that once was crowned with thorns')

********

As desert bare, as dull and dry

Lord, attend to our cry

Help us persevere, onwards go

And still your presence know

Your Spirit's touch, your Spirit's power

Come fill us every hour

What things of profit can we do

That are pleasing to you?

Give strength and grace where sad or tired

By yourself we inspired

To follow you, our risen Lord

True be your every word

Progress on in things great and small

We may learn from them all

Grow in your image more each day

You the Life, Truth, and Way
