never ever

dusk arising

Walking home
from your place.
I'd met your
mum and dad.
Ate some cake,
cup of tea.
Filled the
coal bucket.
And in the
darkened hallway
the magic of your
goodbye kiss.
Long and
lingering
upon luscious
softness of
your lips.
Just like in
the movies.
Walking home
from my
first real kiss.
Smiling
so deep inside
that I never
ever forgot.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Great old soul piece of music which was around when I was learning about growing up and moving out of schoolboy life into the bigger world where soul music attracted the lovely things that we wanted to learn so much more about.

  • ANGELA & BRIAN

BRIAN HERE ~ Hi DA ~ Rhythm & Beat in the 1964 SOUL MUSIC - before my time (b. 1983) and I was intrigued it was *Sans Lyriques* ! I guess it was the Rhythm & Beat that raised your aspirations & libido !
Love the MEMORY of your *First Real Kiss* & the location ! O Yes I remember mine well SADIE in 1990. I was 17 & she was 16 and it was Christmas !

Blessings & Peace to You & Yours
    Yours BRIAN |& ANGELA ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’œ

Thanks Brian. Look, it's ok for unattached men to reminisce about ladies in our past but it's seriously dangerous for attached men. Beware.... lovely as they are, a part of a females brain is called "ammunition dump" and whilst there appears to be no apparent damage done at the time of discovery of one's past, I recommend keeping a steel helmet in reserve for when the fur fly's.

LOL thanks Lawless. You'll have to forgive Brian, he's only an educator..... gawd help our children.

They were simple days, simple life, simple mission, simply a mazin! Yes it's all actually true, every word of it... and the music.

                  • myself and me

Is it possible to forget a moment like this. When you revisit the moment, your heart still beats faster.

                    • dusk arising

Oh to be at the beginning of such a journey again.

                    • Goldfinch60

That first kiss is so special, mine was about the same time in the early sixties.

                      I even remember this record!

                      • dusk arising

A lot of water has flowed beneath our bridges since those wonderful years..... but memories tell us how alive we were learning about life and love.

Wonderful times as the world was changing so fast.

some things have a habit, or a tendency to never go away, or leave us do they ... and just like your first kiss, neither should they ....

A very precious memory sir, this one ....
