It is always there for me,

The music in my life

Has been there forever.

It can mean so much,

Bring on so many emotions.

Then it happens,

A song is sung,

One you know so well

That your emotions

Determine your hearing,

Because,

When you are happy

You hear the music,

When you are sad

You hear the words.

        Having thought about it there's some truth in this. I much prefer music to song but that's perhaps because I always try to look on the bright side and because I'm a realist which means I squirm at the nonsense of most lyrics.

          Thank you Michael, I too generally listen to the music, I mean most of the operas I listen to are in foreign tongues so it is definitely the music I listen to but in the Choirs that I am in the words are so emotive very often.

            Good Morning Uncle Andy ~ We love the MANTRA *When you are HAPPY you hear the MUSIC ~ When you are SAD you hear the LYRICS* This is very very true in our Experience. We both adore the Music from *LES MYS* but the Lyrics always make us weep buckets ~ and its happened to Me again today. Music plays a big part in both our lives and it always complements our moods especially when we were separated by 11,500 miles for 15 months and as we are now (from our Loved Ones) due to COVID 19 ! But this too shall pass.
            I was looking for DREAM SONGS for my 7x7x7 Poem today but decided that *AN IMPOSSIBLE DREAM* was the most appropriate ! Please check ~ Thanks. Thanks also for what you have shared today.
