Flicking

AuburnScribbler

I’m flicking, just flicking,

Through the channels,

Whilst I’m alive and kicking,

And whilst I’m viewing,

I gorge on chicken,

Which is finger-licking,

Goodness, though the clock is ticking.

So, I should do things,

Thus, no nit-picking,

Perhaps I should weave,

Do a spot of wicking,

Or be on the lookout,

Of those who are nicking,

And dream of giving them a good kicking.

Now I’m clicking, just clicking,

Watching videos, and doing some,

Job-seeking, and trying to avoid,

Politicking, like the plague,

Which many are sicking,

Readying those arms for some,

Health pricking, so they can still be alive and kicking.

I now toggle the flicking and clicking,

To multi-task, as I can’t leave, thus I’m sticking; here,

Clicking, flicking, whilst eating chicken,

Both being real, and doing some tricking,

But when it’s all said and done, as the time keeps

Ticking, and I remain alive and kicking,

All I’m really doing; is flicking and clicking.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I thought I would write a somewhat "nonsense poem" today, which is a call back to a previous poem entitled "Scrolling", which I posted on here on August 4th 2017. I gave myself the task to write a poem, which had words that sounded the same, I chose words with the suffix "icking" this time to be the main theme. I hope you enjoy, and as ever, please stay safe everyone.

But your flicking and clicking is combining with thinking and writing giving living in writing into my being.

      Thanks again, Andy.

I hope that my rhyming and lining, can be regarded as some combining subliming, thus no whining will be shining, in a world that should be re-aligning.

      Please stay safe.

      Ben
