Way To Walk

orchidee

Tune: Abridge

('Be thou my guardian and my guide')

***********

Lead us, Lord, show to us your way

Your light we need each day

Where things are lost, when once we gained

We joyed then, now are pained

But help us see what your plans be

in our reality

Though downcast if back at square one

May be, after work done

Yet not all wasted, though dark, seems

If devoid of light's beams

We trust you will show way ahead

Thus far you have us led

Not disappointment, fear, or shame

Nor accusation, blame

Help us move on, show what you will

Have us do for you still

If things not work out as we thought

E'en with prayers we besought

You, and seemed all settled it be

Yet not permanently

Give grace to us to persevere

To know your purpose clear

What do you say? What will you show?

So that we your will know

Go tell those last three verses to black people in philadelpia.

Real life and the goodness of the christian god.... seen to be poles apart. Once again.

Thanks A&B. Not very old then, 'only' 19th Century. How is Fumigate? He might scratch me, calling him that - or is it a 'she'? I forgot if you told us.
