Captain’s Log

Accidental Poet

Captain of his own ship

He’s a man of the sea

He could be anyone

Maybe even you or me

Adrift on calm waters

Where smooth sailing prevails

His logbook filled with many a page

As again the wind fills his sails

He knows not

His destination

His only hope

Long awaited salvation

At night his companions are the stars

By day the radiant Sun

He contemplates his life

And the course he’s on

Where might the wind take him?

This he knows not

But in his Captain’s log

Life’s teachings well taught

Of rough waters

And wind driven rain

The loss of loved ones

And deep emotional pain

Days of wonder

Nights of laughter across the miles

All in all a rich man

As he tallies up the smiles

And now with sails full

Stars that twinkle above

In his Captain’s log he writes

There’s always a trace of love

Good write AP. I know where he's going. He's sailing away from my singing - to the other side of the world! lol.

In spite of the stormy seas love will always calm them in one's heart.

He could be, that was brilliantly done!
