Tune: Dies Dominica
('We pray thee, heavenly Father')
Matthew 26 v.26-29
**********
Gathered at the Last Supper
They did meet, there confer
Jesus and disciples all
Sure they had heard His call
To follow Him, make ready
The meal, prepared that day
And as they there were eating
Jesus did do a thing
He took bread, and did bless it
Broke it, gave it, 'twas fit* (*suitable, apt)
Gave to disciples, and said
Take, eat, by this be fed
For this is my body true
Shall be broken for you
The gospel of salvation
Unto every nation
And He gave thanks, took th cup
Gave to them, said, All sup* (*drink)
Of this, for it is my blood
Shall be a cleansing flood
Blood of the new testament
'Tis the new covenant
Shed for many, remission
Of sins brings to each one
Brings forgiveness, redemption
Through Jesus, God's own Son
Would drink it then not again
Until the time comes when
He shall drink it with us true
In the kingdom anew
In His Father's kingdom sure
Which shall be evermore

ANGELA HERE - Good Morning Uncle Steve - Brian is loving Father*s Day with his new Son - SMOKEY ! Brian is with Him all day (most days) so they have really bonded. He (SMOKEY !) loves Me as well ! Love the HYMN and the Bible Passage - Brian & I have our own Communion Service each Sunday - we invite our Neighbour (Eileen - Methodist) who is on her own.
The Communion Service is very simple (Bread = Body & Wine = Blood) and we have celebrated it all over the World with different elements (Bread & Wine) and different languages ! However the experience is the same *One with Each Other & the Godhead* - AMEN
Thanks for having the GRACE to share the *Trinity* with us each day - always a Blessing ! Every Poetry Group should have a SAINT STEVEN !
Have a Good Day with FIDO etc
Love in the Spirit Angela & Brian !
Thanks A&B. That cat knows a good thing! Some days my poems are of my madness of marrying KP, or other assorted nuttiness! Why I married her I will never know. It was one Halloween of course - what other day could it have been?! Whatever would have happened if Brian married KP? lol.
That's some pretty powerful writing there Orchi. I'd say you have a talent for writing. Or did KP show you the way?
Thanks AP. Yes, KP helps me write horror poems - in the sense of scary-looking after Botox! lol.
God one Orchi but you would only put water in the wine
Thanks Gold. Though they did let me be Sacristan (help get the bread and wine ready), as a relief, when the usual one was on holiday. As well as water, did I try to poison them? I used out-of-date grape juice once. Doh!
