A morning of solid grey sky
pales three weeks of separation
which kept me from this road.
Staffordshires display of autumnal beauty
has turned a verdant yeaterday
to a carpet of amber and gold where
dark and skeletal roadside Birch
salute my passing.
Deep in thoughts of
the 'today' possibilities
a stupid mistake,
a lesson to be learned.
Forgiveness, realisation of worth
bridging the aching chasm of missing.
The glow of resurrecting.
Whilst visions of this autumnal beauty
take my breath away.

Good write dusk.
Fine Write dusk arising.
Good Lord, I absolutely love the horns,
Trumpet (melody that awakens, troops no less, which I tried and couldn't even play),
Saxophone (sexy like a fine sound blowing over the curves of a woman),
Trombone (deep/loud sound like a baritone alerting to what's coming or maybe going),
Clarinet too (tweeting like a bird).
A bloomin good out of season seasonal poem sir.. and I like it.. I like it a lot..

TBH its more about the beauty of the lady i was going to see in the autumn of her years.
The pathos of missing nature's bounty comes over so deeply in these autumnal lines D.A. - - so pleased you got round to posting this little gem along with the kinda music I like.
Glad you enjoyed the music. I think i disguised the meaning of my words too deeply with the first verse. The autumnal beauty was the lady.
My kind of write - good one dusk.
Good Evening *DA* thanks for a very generous helping (2.5 + hrs) of mood Jazz - ideal background to write up my Weekly Reports !
Love the Poem reminds us *August come She must* ! Cooler days & nights and the vibrant Green of Summer morphing into the more diverse & subtle shades of Autumn. This Year the inevitable *Autumn Beauty* will do its best to eclipse the grip of COVID 19 - but there may be some light at the end of the Tunnel. Thanks foe sharing a promise of Autumn.
Peace & Joy to You & Yours
Love Angela & Brian 💛💛💛
A pleasurable read, thanks
That autumnal beauty is so wonderful, natures art at its best.
Well I have my music list to listen to this evening now d a, Yusef Lateef will have to return to the ether.
Andy
Lateef was one of my first finds in jazz. He has been through so many changes. The Jazz-funk era of 70's was an amazing period for him.
The autumnal beauty i really wanted to emphasise, but got lost doing it TBH, was the beauty of the lady in the autumn of her years.
