REST IN PEACE KEVIN BROWNE

Accidental Poet

This is Not Good-bye

As you close your eyes

And your last breath is gone

In the many lives you’ve touched

Your love light lives on

Yes, there will be a void

Where you used to be

But I know it’s you

In the sunrise I now see

Your spirit ever brighter

Your touch all the more you

You’re in the depths of my heart

Even the sunset shines of you too

In time I will adjust

To knowing life this way

I know God has called you home

As I cherish all your yesterdays

I’ll always remember

The love light in your eye

We’ll see each other again

This is not good-bye

Whatever your faith or belief i'm sure you'd agree that a person with such beauty inside is deserving of advancing to a better place. My belief hopes this for Kevin. Your words are a fine tribute to a man who showed us his heart.

I repeat here te comment i left yesterday to the post 'remembering a poet' by Laura.

Kevin was an extraordinary poet beyond doubt. He painted pictures with lines from his life and created emotional scenery.
Not always the easiest of poets to read, a man most definitely in touch with his life's emotional gains and losses who opened himself up before our eyes often painfully so. I think his work was mostly appreciated in its richness by those who had felt life's blows and resurrections. I have never seen any work comparable to his.

His writing is without doubt missed here on mps.

I do agree Kevin is deserving of a place in Heaven. He writes for a new audience now. Thanks for your reading and comment da.

              Hi Accidental Poet

Thank you for that lovely tribute to Kevin.

It was a pleasure to connect with him via our poetry.

I'm sad and in shock at his untimely death.

Keep writing and safe during these challenging times.

Knowing how sick he was makes his last poems posted in MPS especially poignant. This final stanza of his January 14 "Diary Entry Number ..." is haunting:

This is my tear and this is what it cries
Around the block, around another bend
Another loss, another pain that never dies
A broken man, a broken heart he'd lend.

Indeed, Kevin was a rare individual. And we're all the better just for being here with him. Kevin was an inspiration to all who knew him. Thanks for the read and comment jarcher54.

Thank you Laura for your entry of Kevin's passing. Otherwise I would not have known. I believe Kevin is now at peace and without pain.

                      Yes, I believe that also.
                      No more pain...only peace.
