Tune: Coe Fen
('How shall I sing that majesty?')
***********
You will accept our praises true
That we, Lord, make to you
Here find humble thanks from our hearts
Your Spirit ne'er departs
Takes up within His residence
His presence we do sense
We your servants, your people be
Help us with mercy free
Yet you call us not servants, nor
Slaves, for by your grace sure
We are your friends, you reveal
Of the Father, His will
Unto us, who with you commune
And raise a joyful tune
You bring salvation to each one
Who are the Father's Son
Lighten our way, where troubles too
Come strengthen us, renew
You who know what we need before
We ask, and do know more
Than we ourselves know, though you say
Ask, seek, and knock today
Promises of prayer's answers we
Trust, rely on you see

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.6.8.6. 8.6.8.6. metre. There are 'promises of prayer's answers, I believe, though the answer may be 'no' or 'not yet. I, as others, give up on some things - it's too much, I can't be bothered to pray a lot more, etc. And yet, note to self: 'You asking; you seeking; you knocking at that door?!' At least 'give it a try', or 'give it a whirl!'

Hi Orchidee,
God is our leading light.
With him, he will never leave us nor forsake us.
Keep writing and safe during these challenging times.

Thanks Fine.
Another great one Orchi.
Thanks AP.
Erm... what is it you are thanking the 'lord' for here?
Thanks dusk. Thanks for His Spirit; His presence; etc.
Well it certainly keeps you well motivated .
Yes, thanks dusk. Though I admit in some poems, I may not always give the details of what we praise Him for! doh!
tried to listen but sound was turned off.. then we blew a fuse and the house was plunged into darkness.. could have done with a leading light just now 🙂
You got that candle ready?! You gone up in a puff of smoke? Hope not - hope you're still with us!
Good one Orchi.
Thanks Gold.
