In these Strange Times
So many things have changed.
The burglars are not profiting,
People are always at home,
So they too,
Have stayed at home.
Few robberies on the street
As there are not many people
Walking the streets.
But you must feel sorry for shoplifters,
Shoplifting has decreased,
Decreased by sixty percent.
It is such a shame for them,
When the shops shut.

- Comment from author about the poem: I read an article in the paper a couple of days ago which was telling of the decrease in the crime rates during the pandemic and the way the article was written it was almost feeling sorry for the criminals especially shoplifters as the rate of shoplifting had decreased by sixty two percent - shame!!

tis a funny old world, innit.. not often ya see a couple of dozen folk queuing to get into the bank or Post office , each wearing masks, is it..... or is it...
Another grand observational poem my friend...
Neville
Thanks Neville.
Whenever I wear a mask the police stop me, I wonder if it is the striped shirt and the 'swag-bag' I carry?
Love the irony of this - poor things.
That is what I though Michael, it was as though the reporter felt sorry for them.
Andy
yes, aww. And what about Branson still? I think we should all give him more. Seems right to me. It don't matter if we're poor. Doh!
You could always ask KP to help him or shall I ask my friend to have a word with KP's mother?
Oh yes, KP's millions. Come back KP, from trips to botox, or whatever publicity ego-trip you are on. I only want your money!
haha the pandemic has affected all businesses including the criminal workld. lets hope the government gives them a bail out to see them through -Diane
Thank you Diane.
Government are biggest criminals of them all! LOL
Andy
i wont disagree there, maybe we could give thema bailout too although our taxes kind of do that already the greedy monsters
Before reading your words i listen to the music. Superb. Quality and clarity of the recording comes across, even from my tiny laptop's speakers. I could hear his chair creaking and after his final note the Dee-Daw of a passing police car which brought a smile i think to the virtuoso's face.
Terrible news you describe but we must console ourselves in the knowledge that the devil has found work for those idle thieving hands as we read reports that they are now battering their partners, lavishing bruises and broken limbs upon the innocents to compensate for the lack of stolen goods around the home.
Yes it is a superb recording d a, such a good interpretation on guitar.
it is such a shame that the devil has had to show his face once more.
