Flamingo

I wanted your place to feel like a second home.           Somewhere i felt safe and secure.                                       I thought that this would have happened by now for sure.     Get better aqainted with your friends...                        People you care about,                                                that are a big part of your life.                                         I feel those moments slip into the past,                           like sand within an hourglass.

Is it too late to become that part of of your life?               Has the moment already passed?                                         I want to be that someone who is actually there,               That you can turn to....

That you can lean on...

As your daily/monthly/yearly struggles become.                  more than you can bare.                                             That you feel less alone,                                               just because I'm there.                                                 How i wish i was there...                                             Wish that i was that person that you could.                       talk to all through the night (like we used to babe)             ...as you struggle and fight.

Of all the things that i regret most...                                Is wish I'd spent more time with you.                             Here was my chance for a new beginning.

Babe..i saved the best for a better ending.

This is not just another poem on a familiar theme - it has its own character and so well expressed. An emotive write and a great piece of work.

    • ANGELA & BRIAN

ANGELA HERE - GOOD EVENING FLAMINGO ~ Thanks for Sharing. Relatonships take time to come to fruition - but sadly - sometimes just fade away & die ! I was 28 when I met Brian (33) four years ago. Prior to that I had had some hopeful relationships. I am half-Spanish and in a secure Job (PHYSIO) and lively company ! Some of my Boyfriends had Flats but I never moved in ! I came close but Younger men (20 to 30) are wary of committment & marriage. So some of your Poem resonates with my experience. When I met Brian and our Love developed - we got engaged (first time for both of us) and we got married four months ago during LOCKDOWN ~ AMEN ! I had saved my best for the best ENDING ~ AMEN

      Blessings for the FUTURE
      Love Angela & Brian 💛💛💛
