In the year twentyfour hundred and ignorance
grandfather told me of the family line
who once lived here among trees and parklands of green
where there were strange animals he called cows
which gave milk to drink and it was lush.
There were wild flying birds with wings of the sacred feathers
and the land stretched for hundreds of miles
where it reached down to the sea
which used to be a place you could bathe and enjoy
People were able to run around with their
skin exposed to the suns heat.
There are pictures in the keep of those times.
There were thousands of people then.
Threats of war worried everyone for
the whole planet could become a nuclear desert.
But that wasn't what happened.
Ignorance happened.

Ignorance brings about the death of many blessings.
Good writing!
yes, it's going to kill our planet as we know it if we can't educate everyone. thanks for commenting
A glimpse into the future and it doesn't look good - there's only one thing worse than ignorance - it's called burying your head in the sand. A fine write dusk.
you're right. I initially wrote this for a fusioned poem on here but thought it worth a show in its own right.
Glad you did. I've a few written for Fusions or in the comments which I'll be posting sometime.
Lol that's an interesting night read for me, I shall dream of all that is yet to be as no nuke will set us free!

Ha ha, it would be fun to blame you but life is scary enough my friend!
This is a very good message d a, and unfortunately those in power who could stop it happening don't care.
Love the music, great take on the original Stravinsky suite.
Andy
because it will not be in their lifetime and theyre hardly family influenced folk..... whats the answer?
Such a sad read and showing how the planet and occupants may be in that year is described with the pathos the subject deserves.
fireworks beneath certain people wouldnt do the trick as things stand today..... sadly i see no resolution..... things may begin when its far too late maybe
