'promise me daddy,
promise you'll come home'
four year old lips
speak of memories
mummys hugs and kisses
tickles and ginger bread men
softness, comfort, love
girly things daddy doesn't do
gone now, missed
lost into that dark shadow
where tears call out
and daddy's hugs
dont bring mummy back
from that shiney box
she went to heaven in
daddy says mummy wanted to
she always wanted to
to come home
to the little girl she loved
the little girl who made her smile
and filled her with joy
made her life into
a new and happy girly place
where she was very very happy
but one night
she couldn't come home
nice doctors were mending her
because she got broken in a car
a devil called drink
was inside a lady driving home
and the devil hurt mummy
but they couldn't fix her
and she can't come home anymore
'i promise you,
my sweet darling baby girl
daddy always comes home
daddy will always come home'

Such an emotive write d a.
Yes daddy must always come home.
Andy
ANGELA HERE - Good Morning DA - Thank you for caring & sharing a very heart braking but all too true story of the bewilderment and heart rending sobs of a Child whose MUMMY has been swept into Eternity by One Glass Too Many. The MANTRA is *Dont Drink & Drive* but thousands ignore it every week - often with deadly consequences. A Child needs both Parents because a Mummy & Daddy bring different aspects of love to the Marriage & the Children. For a Lttle Girl to lose her Mummy is the most unkindest cut of ALL. The Littlr Girl needs daily reassurance *That Daddy will always Come Home !
Joy & Peace to You & Yours
Love ANGELA & BRIAN 💛💛
Awwwww
A sensitive write dusk.
And you certainly don't need to apologise - fine write dusk.
well I for one am very thankful you reposted,
the kind of raw emotionality that brings lumps to readers throats and has them giving spontaneous 'just because, hugs' to their loved ones
No need to apologise DA.. as far as I'm concerned you could keep this popping up on a continuous loop ..
Neville
Gave me goosebumps
