Salvation Sharings

orchidee

Tune: Mannheim

('Lead us, heavenly Father, lead us')

Psalm 69 v.29-36

***********

I, O God, be poor, sorrowful

I your salvation recall

Let it set me up on high for

I do trust in you here sure

I will praise the name of God here

With a song to Him draw near

Will magnify Him, and thanks give

By His mercies I shall live

The humble shall see this, be glad

Turn from mourning, not be sad

Your heart shall live, you that God seek

Heart that be lowly and meek

For the LORD the poor He does hear

To His prisoners does appear

Let the heaven and earth Him praise

The seas too, throughout all days

For God will save Zion and build

Judah's cities, home and field

So that he may there within dwell

His people His glories tell

It be their possession, their own

In His city He is known

His servants descendants too they

Inherit, love Him alway

    Good one Orchi.

Thanks Gold. With words to the hymn in the clip - you faint and weary, passing through the 'desert heat' at present? You lone and dreary too?! 'Who you calling dreary?' you reply! lol. Was Dreary one of the 7 Dwarfs, or was that Dopey?

"By his mercies i shall live" well lucky you Orchidee, tell that to the children of famine, flood, disease, disability.... all of which are controlled by your omnipotent god.

        • orchidee

Thansk dusk. Erm, yes, what might I say if I was in their place?

I think it would open your eyes to just how ridiculous a god the one invented by christianity really is. Is a god who sends you flood and famine and maims your children at birth one you really want to worship... I mean REALLY??? Well that's YOUR christian god and people like you who worship it are saying maiming children etc is a good worshipful thing.... or are you too afraid to see the connection?

That there is a god or supreme power i don't doubt but the christian version is bullshit!

I can't give a 'sermon-type' reply to this. One thing I can say is Christ shares in the sufferings of humanity, and suffered Himself too. I don't know why wars, illness, disability, etc. still go on. Some of it is man's own doing, but not all of it.

Orchidee, i respect you too much to continue this here but...... i could go on for ages.

I know what you mean though. For example, on we go, with prayers for healing and medical help for some who are sick, but who then pass away. It may seem like a cop-out to say 'but that's their healing; they're out of suffering now'. True in one sense though.
