Our furry friend puts us to shame
In the giving of his faith,
Of his eating of his straw
Or his gestures in saving face.
He nods to his mortal prison,
And casts a glow on our misgivings,
He takes what he's offered
And doubles the interest risen.
A better example we've never known
Nor a finer hamster does there exist,
Never knowing just what it is he does
Or the temptations that he resists.
He believes in us as you do,
With a chipper tooth to shine,
So if you're up there take a listen
Of this wonderful mate of mine.
I'm telling you now, God
Wherever you may be;
If you don't take that hamster
Then we'll give him willingly!
Dedicated to Orchidee.
(All in good fun. I think he's the orange one.)

- Comment from author about the poem: I am a man of no religion, but credit should be given where it is due. (Speaking of course about the hamster in question) Happy day to you all!

Of hamsters there are a very few
That have been honoured to a saint like stature
Than that of our heraldric mate Orchi
Christ like in his nature
He also stays up night running in his wheel!
Nicely penned Nicholas made me chuckle
A success it is to make a crow exhale
A few bristles from his nostrils.
Wait, I think I read they don't laugh though;
I didn't know it was possible!
And yeah he does doesn't he xD Thank you Sir I'm glad you had a giggle.
Touché. Haha
Good write N. lol.
Arrgghh! They are guinea pigs.
But scary now - giant hamsters! lol.
The biggest hamsters ever flying on clouds to torment us good folk. lol
Glad you enjoyed my friend.
I'm breeding mutant hamsters, don't ya know. They're the size as in my pic. heehee.
Swoons, and staggers back in amazement at this tribute to me! loll
Hahahaha xD There hasn't been much staggering or swooning but that's alright. Let the people be ungrateful!
Animal heaven with hamsters and other animals living happily, peacefully together.....
May that hamster experience all the wealth it has to offer.
Good fun write Nicholas.
Andy
Thank you very much Andy! A pleasure as always.
This was a very nice pawn and there is something about it simple eloquence that reminds me that sometimes we need only look at our little friends and recognize just how precious life is and how much simpler it would be if we could only see through their eyes.
