To all of my insecurities, I bid you farewell.
Though you say it isn’t fair? Well...
For nine years you kept me imprisoned,
Controlled my every move,
While the other kids were playing,
I was alone, crying in my room.
You made me believe that I wasn’t enough,
But I was a diamond beneath all the coal dust.
You spoon fed me lies and I ate them whole,
Gave up on my dreams, abandoned my goals.
So it is time for you to go, Long over due.
Vacancy expected, leave every room.
And one final time I will pick up this knife,
To sever our ties and take back my life.

Beautiful poem, very raw and authentic.
Good luck on your journey of self discovery 🙏💖
If you can write like this, you have no need to be insecure. Henceforth remember the wisdom of Carroll's Humpty Dumpty: ‘The question is, which is to be master–that’s all.’
Very emotive write, may your life move forward into the freedom and wonder that come with every new day.
Never fail to deliver with your brilliant poetic soul....I'm nearly 40 and they still won't go!
I just sit them down for tea, with a biscuit and me. Getting lost in the flow of poetry, others & ours letting go of screams..
Thank you my friend
Always appreciated
