First Focus

orchidee

Tune: Ravenshaw

('Lord, thy word abideth')

********

Lord, help us seek you first

For you hunger and thirst

Knowing you will tend to

Our daily needs in view

Food and drink and clothing

You know we need each thing

May we trust you provide

And sure in you confide

You will lead us your way

Guide us to watch and pray

Hold to you, spark burn bright

Lead us with your clear light

We shall live by your grace

Each thing of life we face

Show us your plan, purpose

Your intent to bless us

Living for your glory

Sharing gospel story

Salvation here for all

Who on your name, Lord, call

I was tempted to post something witty, or silly even but on reading 'First Focus' .. it came to me that far too many fire from the hip, without seeing what they are looking at or aiming for clearly .. as though on impulse or reflex .... and in the end, I concluded, or rather reinforced my original view and that is to get what one wants clearly in sight first .. see beyond the smoke screens and only then, squeeze the proverbial trigger ...

      Neville 🙂

Thanks N. ooh, be witty or silly if you wish - or both! I shall stagger back in amazement at your witticisms. lol. The idea here seems to be that we need food, drink, and clothing, but not to be obseesed with these things, as if that's ALL there is to life.

Yes we must firstly focus and let faith take our hand before reaching success - good thoughts here Orchi.
