Stormy Scene

orchidee

Tune: Diademata

('Crown Him with many crowns')

**********

Night-storm, the lightnings flash

And loud the thunders crash

The rain teems down. refreshes land

All under your strong hand

You, Lord of life and power

Your strength constant each hour

Your voice loud in the storm is heard

Or e'en in quietest word

Wind makes the trees to shake

Raindrops o'er river, lake

And waters land, relief does bring

To each dry, arid thing

So your Spirit you send

Unto us you do tend

Water of life you with us share

We revive and well fare

All life dependent be

On you, Creator, we

Do believe, what you will, you do

And wonders not a few

Life you give unto all

Help us to hear your call

To turn to you, your salvation

By grace unto each one

  • dusk arising

    The wind doth howl
    and tempest blow
    from your wrath
    so all should know
    you dont care two hoots
    about killing human kind
    cos christians love you
    but their love is blind

Thanks dusk. It's said 'We love because He first loved us'. I saw this on a head-stone. In that case it meant the person who had passed away had first loved hsi children.

BRIAN HERE ~ Thnaks for posting a great Hymn to raise our Spirits on a DAMP Thursday Morning ! In this GODLESS GENERATION we need to give GOD all the Praise & Glory he deserves' Thanks for your Poem on the Blessing of the Water Cycle I have posted several. It keeps Planet Earth alive ~ and yet it is one the most understated of Gods greatest Blessings. Foolish People grumble when it rains on their Parade. We always trust the *Weather Forecast* when planning an *Al Fresco* Event for the Church and we havent had one spoiled by Rain in the last ten Years. If we work with GOD (and his essential Weather Patterns) we are always blessed AMEN ! Thanks M. I reeled off 'flash' and 'crash' for the opener.

That is beautiful, it has a true sense of praise. I wrote a poem today that is light triumphant over the dark. But mentions too much of the foul deeds.

Your poem Orchidee is praising the light not as a contrast to the dark but the all encompassing love of the creation to God and God to the creation.

              Amen

                Thanks Gavin.

Dont even mention storms to me this mane .. we have one presently that has been raging all night long

.. no rain but strong enough to lob a heavy garden chair over a hundred yards and take the top off me dove cote ...

                • orchidee

Aww, poor doves - and poor chair. A flying chair, no less! Were you sitting on the chair when it took off?!

                  • Neville

No I was just about to land on my dove cote tho ..
