IDIOMS REMODELED (1 - 4)

Michael Edwards

The pen is mightier than the sword a charcoal stick.

There’s no such thing as a free lunch parking spot.

A watched pot never boils knows the time.

Beggars can’t be choosers sacked.

Four good ones Michael but i would have thought that in your hands a charcoal stick is mightier than the pen, it certainly is in my daughters hands, she has drawn some amazing images with charcoal, one of which always looks over me as i write my words. (In fact there may be a poem there about that picture).

I was looking for a work for the wall and thought 'what the heck - I can make my own'. I did see something similiar on line and they were asking £350 for it - well it's not as easy as it looks but great fun to make.

Don't some people eat charcoal as a health remedy? There won't be any left for you to draw with - they will have eaten all the sticks! Miss Berles eat charcoal?

        • Michael Edwards

Miss Berles eats chalk - it helps keep her teeth white.

is there no end to your artistic versatility sir ...

... I also applaud the quintet of fine idioms you have put on display for us .. I particularly like the last one which reminded me of some of my homeless patients who made a considerable living out of begging

All in all a bloomin good turn out today Michael ...

              • Michael Edwards
