Where does the time go?
Forty five years since that day,
That day when Bohemian Rhapsody
Came into my life,
Forty five years ago today
When it began its creation,
A song that stands out,
Stands out from so many.
I have heard it so many times,
Seen it sang so many times,
Sang it myself,
But still that song is special,
So special.
It will sail into music’s history
And be heard forever,
And when I pass
I will still hear it
As it sails through the ether,
Sails through the ether with me.
Where does the time go.

- Comment from author about the poem: I heard on the radio yesterday that it was forty five years to the day when Bohemian Rhapsody started to be written, that really surprised me for some reason.

Good write Gold. Was we hearing it in 1066? The Hastings Rhapsody?
Yes, thats where the Bohemian one came from.
Andy
I should have stayed in Bohemia in 1066. Would have saved me mucking everything up!
Once heard, neva forgot ...
I remember well the very first time I eva heard it too ....
I also ask the very same question .. and frequently ....
Neville
So do I, I had just been promoted in my job and had to move from Kent to Portsmouth, I was staying in a hotel while house buying sorted. I got to know the staff very well and me and the Assistant Manager were skateboarding along a corridor when this was play - as you do.
The choir that Iam in have sang this song and it is not easy, once we cracked it the feedback from the audiences was amazing.

Time goes down the plug hole every time u pull the plug. So stop washing and stay young.
There is a poem coming about your remark d a, I have just written it while drinking coffee in my coffee bar.
Andy
Strange isn't it - Bohemian Rhapsody does nothing for me - good write though.
Michael, if we all liked the same thing life would be very boring.
Unsub,
That surprised me but see my comment to Michael.
Who are The Pet Shop Boys?
Well you asked for it , words about SS eh?
Andy
I can understand about SS yes they do have an awesome singer and lyric writer, their music is so wonderful I could listen to it forever, such good works and such wonderful sounds come my way when listening to them.

greatest song ever written.
Well a very good song that will always be there but there are so many which fall into the category greatest ever,
Andy
Too many trips around the Sun, most of my favorites have melted into obscurity. Songs from 55-60 or so. But then Music marches on, new songs arise and are favored, and then forgotten. It's a constant cycle. Loved your poem. - Phil A.
Thanks Phil, yes music is like life it changes with time but some are outstanding.
Andy

Thank you Angela, it certainly did change music in its day, so did many bands in the seventies.
