Little Cornard

('Hills of the north rejoice')

Isaiah 55 v.6-11

********

Seek the LORD while He may

Be found, salvation's day

Is still upon us here

Call upon Him while near

He be ready to accept each

Who does pray, humbly Him beseech

Let the wicked forsake

Their way, the LORD's way take

Let the unrighteous too

Forsake their thoughts, and do

Return unto the LORD, and He

Will have mercy upon them, see

So to their God return

His will and ways to learn

He will abundantly

Pardon and forgive free

For His thoughts they are not our thoughts

His way not our ways, He has wrought

For as the heavens are

Higher than earth by far

So His ways are higher

Than our ways be, for sure

And His thoughts too they higher be

Than our human thoughts certainly

For as the snow and rain

Fall, they do not again

Return to heaven, they

Water the earth, allay

Its thirst, makes it bud and bring forth

O'er all lands, east, west, south, and north

So it may give seed to

The sower thence anew

And food as we do eat

Of the produce replete

So God's word does not void return

To Him, we prosper, of it learn
