Tune: St Hilda
('O happy band of pilgrims')
*********
Now the day of salvation
Is here for each nation
Now is time acceptable
To come to Jesus all
To take Him as your Saviour
He has made the way sure
For you to come unto God
This earthly path He trod
Did live, died, and rose again
Himself and offering them
When He upon the cross gave
His life, us all to save
This was the atonement made
That we not need afraid
Be to approach to God now
Christ has made way, 'tis how
How God is now satisfied
He has not us denied
His justice shown to be right
We welcomed in His sight
Welcomed, for Christ our place takes
Gave His life for our sakes
Paid price for our sins so we
May now forgiven be
No other hope or person
We have, but Christ the one
For our salvation, for all
Who believe, on Him call

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 7.6.7.6. This was inspired by a book with a Chapter on the Atonement. I feel we can understand this, even if we may not be able to fully humanly understand some other themes: Election (God's choices of people), Predestination, etc.
