The Undisturbed

Fay Slimm.

The Undisturbed.

Diamonds of clearest................. dew-misted pearls

hang in the dank air.

Thick soundless magic............. becalms and unfurls

peace to visitors there.

Woodland's balm bathes..............with quieting lush

those wishing to see.

Mysterious shadows ..................reveal secret hush

to poets like me.

A child perceives awe................ in the undisturbed

and so does the scribe

Whispers seep inward........from each tree and bird

to alter the psyche.

A spectre-dark haunt.......... transforms and refills

sadness with healing.

In such placid places.....................busyness stills

to access much peace.

It has been good...................for me to de-stress

in this ancient wood.

Given the chance................Nature has remedies

should I care to look.

Yes, lovely. But then, coming out of woods, on to main roads, the vanity of loud motor-bikes, and some people showing off by driving too fast.
Oh well, after the woods, back to everyday life we may say - with its stupidities, daftness, etc included, along with its good.
And watch out - not everyone stops their cars at zebra crossings for us.

    • Fay Slimm.

Yes the woods give us a break from such disturbing noises - thanks for your visit and comment my friend.

Wonderful to stroll upon your words into the tranquil space of natures cathederal. Such places bring to us the reality of what we are, animals losing touch with our inherent being, yet tickling the senses of even the most detached person with raw reality of our inner truth. Magic, majesty, magnificence.

I love the word you chose to describe nature's effect on our psyche after imbibing its quiet - - tranquil - -- yes we have certainly lost our sense of being and need these magical places in the noise of this disturbing era - - my thanks for your generous comment D.A.

Nature has so much to be praised for in curing our stress and leading us into a wonderful place in our lives Fay, great words once more.

If I tried to pretend.. even for a moment that these words, once read did not have both a calming and therapeutic effect or impact upon my presently weakened and fevered person ..

then I would be a liar ... and so those also tending me would know it ...

So I aint even gonna bovva .... x

          • Fay Slimm.

Am so glad I posted this poem today Nev and even more pleased it had a calming effect on your present indisposition - - bedding with winter flue can be a bit of a downer and am wishing your bounce back again soon.............x

ANGELA HERE -VERY TRUE FAY ! We do live in a a very disturbed World and it is difficult to find a quiet place to meditate. Ironically COVID 19 has increased the quietness in the Countryside and reduced the noise form Traffic & Marauders etc. This has been remarked on by others ! Now that the Children are back in School we can enjoy Walks before & after Work & it is quieter @ weekends too ! T hanks for sharing a real TONIC !

Beautifully said, I long for the tranquility of hiking in the canyons! After the fire ravaged it last year, the new growth is sadly sprout
From the ground, of burnt stumps, it’s so sad! I use to get lost in The trees and weeds,

Of course, with COVID-19, it’s a new animal

              Oppsie!

Your poem reminds me how wonderful
              Nature’s Beauty is missed!

              • Fay Slimm.

Sincere thanks dear friend for your visit and read of The Undisturbed - yes I agree that after a fire the walks among burnt remains must cause such pain to lovers of Nature,- - - Hoping new growth sprouts again very soon.
