Kites

Lorna

Blow the wind

Loft our kite

Look up and see

Our hands against the light

Climb the string

To catch the view

To bob and weave in

Gusty skies as falcons do

Hear the music

As the breeze

Vibrates the string

And softly starts to sing

Good write Lorna. Yes, we have the wind for it in the UK at present, but also the rain with it!

Yes - Neville mentioned kites yesterday and also that you have rain going and I am so wondering if kites fly in the rain - want to go out and try for me? It's dry here. But don't put a metal key on the string.

Ugh, no, it's horrid to be out in it, even wrapped up in raincoats!

        Lorna,

        Good morning.
        We’re up nice and early.☀️

Love the song. I haven’t heard it in a long time. It complements your poem very nicely.
One particular word you penned that lofted me into a memory of long ago is ‘loft’. The first time I heard that word was on a golf course while watching a golf tournament...where I met my husband.

It's insomnia for me today. I'm glad it's a special word for you and took you back to beginnings....... isn't it funny how just one little thing will do that! It's memories like that that I am running on now!

Good words Lorna, I used to have kites to fly until fairly recently when I gave them to my great-nephew.
