New Joys.

Goldfinch60

Each day I awake

New joy is there for me.

I wonder what it will be today?

There are so many joys to be had.

I will listen to music,

Write my words,

Meet good friends,

Eat fine food,

Drink good wine,

Be happy all day.

But then I will come home,

Home to that empty house

Where my loved one used to be.

She is there in Spirit

But her body has gone to rest,

And is no longer there for me to hug.

As I walk up the stairs

And go to bed she is not there.

But I know when I awake each day

New joys will be there for me.

soothing, even to those who can't claim to know of the grief you bare,
like the positivity: a commodity of life sustenance that's in short supply this days

You're teaching me Andy ... there are still those quiet moments to get through though but we can do it .... that's the kind of hairpin we are (James Cagney).......

          • Goldfinch60

Those quiet moments can be hard Lorna but they are also special as we know our loved one is with us.

Once more we see the positive love of life you exhibit Goldfinch whilst airing your feelings of loss. Thank goodness you have your faith to light that path as you venture ever forward. Continuing along the journey of understanding and acceptance of all the meanings of love and awareness.

            • Goldfinch60

Thank you d a. That journey will always be there and one day I will be sharing it once more with my lover.

I love the way you are managing your life - I only hope I will be as strong if Jeanne doesn't respond to treatment. Don't even want to think about it.

              • Goldfinch60

Thank you Michael. I am sure that the treatment will be OK and all will be well with you and Jeanne.

                Thinking of you both
