Happy Trad.

Goldfinch60

I get into the car

And have a problem,

What music shall I play

While going along the way?

So many different types to enjoy.

Then I saw it on the list,

I put it on and there I was,

Feet tapping,

Hands tapping,

Head nodding.

A smile throughout my body

As the Trad Jazz blasted out,

Blasted out around me.

  • Comment from author about the poem: A friend of mine was a jazz player and at one time many people decried Trad Jazz but he used to play in a pub on Sunday lunchtimes and he said that when they played trad everybody's feet used to tap. If you are listening to this music I bet your feet are tapping!

Thanks Neville, my eye is always on the road, I do not want to miss a cyclist - they are worth 20 points on my brothers and my scoring sheet. 10 for the cyclist and 10 for the bike!

              • ANGELA & BRIAN

Brian Here ~ Good Friday Uncle Andy ~ Love the Charlston great Dance for Weddings - all the seniors love it and it gets every one on the Floor ! Angela & I love Trad Jazz and Angela can make a fair attempt on the Ivories & I have the Guitar Chord sequences to lots of them. I heard Barber - Ball & Bilk in Concert (separate not together !) a privilege even in their DOTAGE. BALL (2013) & BILK (2014) are now part of the BIG JAZZ band in Glory but CHRIS BARBER is still playing on @ 90 ! Theirs was a great era in British Jazz never to be repeated. My DAD can do a fair Scott Joplin impression and loves Jazz as much as Classical ~ AMEN. As you say JAZZ goes straight to the FOOT via the SOUL !

Blessings & Peace to You & Yours
                Love Angela - Brian & Smokey ! ! !

                  Thank you Brian.

Not a fan of trad but did see the very popular local trad band something something stompers once and they were excellent.

                  • Goldfinch60

Like you d a, it is not my favourite type of jazz but there is certainly something about it to get your feet tapping.

Funny how all the popular Trad Jazz bands here in the UK happen to be British - and I love them.

                      • Goldfinch60

Very true Michael, it is trad as it is the British take on the original jazz from the US.
