We go through our lives
Hoping that life will be good,
And the plans we make
Come true in our lives.
Many do,
And we live life to the full,
But sometimes the tides,
The tides of fortune flow
And take us to another place.
We then realise that those tides,
Those tides of fortune take us,
Take us to where no man may know.

Good wite Gold. Aww - they wish the tide had turned, and brought my ship into Hastings shore in 1066. But I just had to turn up, didn't I?! lol.
Thanks Orchi.

Ah yes, pearls of wisdom from star trek..... now that we are all aged fans with typical water works age related deterioration I have modified a well know Spock phrase "Go forth and prostate".
Each poetic opportunity encourages us to "boldly go where no man has gone before"..... which used to we said about virginity.
Being an elderly Trekkie I have used many quotes from Star Trek to produce poems, it is surprising how many fine quotes there are in the series's. (Is that the plural of series?)
I have all the series and all the films and they are always worth re-watching.

If you are a true trekkie then i challenge you to watch this without smiling.

Yes dear friend - your words well bring out the changes that life may bring and the challenges that come with the tides of fortune.
Thank you Fay those tides of fortune can be challenging sometimes but so far so good.
Andy
You're right - we never know which shore we'll arrive at or the challenges it will present.
So far Michael we have met those challenges in our lives and have the experience to face more.
Andy
Indeed, contemplative write Andy
Thanks LB. "Contemplative" eh? That's a long word for a Thursday morning.
