Tune: Melita
('Eternal Father, strong to save')
Psalm 107 v.23-31
**********
They that in ships do go to sea
The LORD's wonders of the deep see
For He commands, and He does raise
The stormy wind, yet still Him praise
Wind lifts up the waves and billows
And turbulent crossings each knows
They in the ships, their souls troubled
By force of storm and gale appalled
They reel to and fro, as drunken
Men, at their wits end appear then
Then they unto the LORD do cry
And know His presence with them nigh
He brings them out of their distress
Makes the storm a calm, does them bless
And then the waves thereof are still
Then they are glad of His good will
For waves be now quiet, He does bring
Them to their haven, thus they sing
O that men would praise the LORD for
His goodness, wondrous works for sure
To all His people, land and sea
Whate'er trade, occupation be
He LORD of all, earth, sea, and sky
Praise to Him due, we not deny

Nice one O
Thanks M.
Hi Orchidee,
A very good write.
When I read this poem I thought of the crossing of the Red Sea by the Israelites.
Keep writing ✍ and safe during lockdown.

Thanks Fine.
May the waves always be calm! Best to you
Thanks RB. They will be calm, unless I sing. Then they whip into a raging fury, only to 'drown me out'. Notice the pun there?! lol.
Very good one Orchi and very apt for the day.
Andy
Thanks Gold. Got your boat out?!
