to end all wars

dusk arising

gathered here again
the few remaining
and the respectful
to a field where once
young lives were
consigned to die
in the madness of war
for a lie upon the lips of
politicians and generals
a war to end all wars

why do we continue

to abuse ourselves so?

Numberless markers set out as remembrance of youth sacrificed and backed by your wording as "the madness of war" - such is the aftermath that we all ask where is the promised peace - -- an outcry indeed D.A. - -
