A Hard Lesson Learned
Tis the hardest of lessons and the most tedious of knocks..
The aches and the tears, that do so teach us the most .......

I fell from a tree
where i had no place to be
The school of hard knocks has awarded me several diplomas. Rumour has it that i am approaching a lifetime achievement award.
Neville, today you give us two lines of such profound wisdom where many others may write twenty and miss the target by a mile.
Quality shines.
I feel well and truly honoured my friend & really can't thank you enough for such a glowing review ..
Neville 🙂
Yes, I banged me toe on the table leg. That was a hard knock!
C'mon now, Orchi, get the real meaning of this! lol.
............. you need to be more careful ....... but thanks for reminding us that life is full of em...
Neville
Lessons learned by this reader from your two short lines my perceptive friend. Hardest of times certainly starts us fighting for ways to beat life's painful knocks..........x
.............................................. thank you kindly my fine literary friend and poet ....................... ....... x
Just like that it can hit! The lessons that you never forget, perfectly penned and sat with my darkness!
Always appreciated
With much peace and respect!
..................................................wishes for peace n respect reciprocated my friend ...
Neville 🙂
So true indeed!! I wish I had a more well thought out review but I do very much agree with dusk arising....C
....................................... all contributions most gratefully received ... thank you Christina8 ...
Christina, great to see you here again, where ya been? Missed your stuff on here - come back..... pleeeeeeze!
A wise couplet - and it makes me ponder the difference between learned and learnt - I should know but now about to google it.
An edit to add that they are the same except learned is more common across the pond whilst the UK tends towards learnt - so, being a patriot, I shall use learnt from now on.
................... now ya got me tempted to tweak it ... my learned friend ........................ cheers 🙂
Gosh - it's really got me going - just looked up while, whilst and among amongst - me 'ead 'urts.
Those hard knocks give you experience and experience cannot be taught.
Andy
................... absolutely Andy.. spot on sir ...
.................................................................................. Neville
Copious use of stops....I'd endorse that - it's something I use frequently although as a suffix mostly.
From the School of Hard Knocks you should gain admission to the University of Life from which, if you work it right, you never graduate - remain a perpetual student.
Dave
... there ya go .. secrets out, I'm a stopaholic .. just can't stop.......................................... 🙂
Oh' and thank you for checking in ...
'Welcome - though you didn't really need a contribution from an intruder like me; you've obviously got your own fan base.
How extraordinarily remiss of me DD sir ... Hello and welcome .. or welcome back maybe .......
Nah - the preceding apostrophe meant to substitute For 'You're' - an attempt to not be too formal.
Is it 'back'? OK - the curse of short term memory loss.....Anyway no remission there - YOUR welcome was in turn very welcome also.
Squared away now?
Regards Dave
................................................... Got 'cha cheers Dave
so very true my friend!
Thomas Wayne:
'And why do we fall, Bruce? So we can learn to pick ourselves up.'
.... Precisely .... no better way to learn .. and thank you LB for covering my back being there when I fall ...
