SHORTLIES (4)

Michael Edwards

I’m going to photograph some cheese today

and so I'll need the cheese to smile

but what do you ask a cheese to say?

      Good write and pic M.
And - you seen a Cheshire cat? They say smile or grin like one.

      • Michael Edwards

I've only seen cheshire cheese - it will smile if you say 'pickles' very loudly. Cheese hasn't got very good hearing.

Can it be a Double Gloucester cat if we can't find a Cheshire one?

erm try a joke, that doesn't chalk: like 'how much weight, in the wisdom of diet cheesecake?'
if you hear an answer in reply, I doubt the cheese has a smile worth photographing,
if you sense tiny vibrations: then be ready to snap, before it cracks-up... lol

like the outline shape of your picture, a new take that adds more depth with its rounded corners, it represents a mental state: ready to 'roll with the waves' and survive till the very end... (at least that's my feeble take)

I prefer to gorge on Cheddar - enough to turn the Danish Blue.

Brian here ~ Gut Morgan Onkel Andy ~ You have opened a Gorganzolas Box with a mention of C*E*S* ! In our College - PHOTOGRAPHY - is rightly classified as APPLIED SCIENCE not ART ! We were organising a PHOTO BROCHURE for the Catering Department who is very proud of its *PLANCHE a FROMAGE* ! When the Chef had arranged the Cheeses for the Fotoshoot ~ I solomly addressed them and requested their best CHEESY SMILE ! I swear they all responded and it has *Pride of Place* in the Brochure ~ AMEN. My MANTRA in all things cullinary is always *ASK & You will RECEIVE* Love the Visual - nice pattern for a Cheeseboard ~ think about it ! I have a Poem about CHEESEBOARDS for later !

Blessings & Prayers to Jeanne & Yourself
            Love Angela Brian Smokey 💛💛💛

Photograhy an applied science - well yes in the technical sense but if you don't have an artists eye you won't be a good photographer.

Firstly before i read your post, dammit thats a really appealing piece of artwork today ME.
Just read your comment about the artists eye in photography... so true. With my beat up old pentax and cheapo darkroom i showed those boys who had all the expensive gear a thing or two. Catier Bresson was a great teacher.

Say cheese of course..... if i take a pic of you and ask you to say michael, immediately before your next breath there will be an expression i want to capture.

Thanks dusk - this one of the last of my fan-like phase - they do take a lot of concentration.
As for cheese the comments have inspired me to write another one in the same vein (blue vein ?) - will post it some time.

Lets hope it's another cracker (barrel).
