They never tell you of this kind of love
Where the thorns of roses cut you deeper and endless sleepless nights endanger the sanity of day
Where turtle doves are simple pigeons
and rainbows have no end
Where an inhale is sharp to silence
the rising wave of emotions
The tide of which brings you to your knees
and leaves you waiting with bated breath...
Hand outstretched
Watching the other half of you
Walk away.

Great structure - great poem.
Thank you Michael, always appreciated.
Felt that one and know of what I was not taught, love can't be destroyed... Although it can hide, walk away or be thrown...
Inspirational stuff, thanks for sharing...
Thank you for reminding that even if it walks away... It's not destroyed. Something to hold onto even when you have to let go. Thank you for reading and commenting Dan.
Some times it is not only the most sensible thing to do.. but also the safest ... a well crafted bit o poetry that made the corners of my mouth move skyward for a few moments.. and for that, I thank ya bigly 🙂
Almost certainly the safest... Isn't love the most violent weapon to wield? Intangible pain. This comment is inspiring another poem haha! Thank you for reading and commenting and you're more then welcome 🙂
Here i quote an old song "love hurts, love scars, love wounds and marrs any heart not tough or strong enough to take a lot of pain.... love is like a cloud... holds a lot of rain"
Seems like your words show youve lived it
Hi Dusk, what song if you don't mind my asking? Relatable at this point and oh, I do love a good sing song especially when driving haha! Thank you for reading and commenting!
I think the original was by a 1950's duet called the everly brothers, its called love hurts. Been covered lots of times.
Very good words Clara, that love is there and will walk back to you.
Andy
Here's to hoping. Thank you for reading and commenting as always, it is appreciated.
wonderful, so real and written with such succinct and emotive word choices, I could not help but picture the scene as-if I was looking at an HD screen,
great write and even better read!
