Tune: All Saints
('Who are these like stars appearing?')
Isaiah 61 v.1-3
**********
The Spirit of the LORD God be
Upon me, anointed see
Am I, to preach good tidings to
Meek and poor, to them renew
To bind up broken-hearted
Captives freedom imparted
Opening of prison to they
Who are bound, in bondage lay
To proclaim acceptable year
Of the LORD, and His day near
Day of vengeance of our God
Enemies shall be down trod
To comfort all that do mourn in
Zion, they that dwell therein
To console, to appoint, to give
Beauty for ashes, they live
The oil of joy for mourning
Garment of praise to them bring
A garment of praise in the place
Of heaviness, by God's grace
That they be [as] trees of righteousness
Planting of the LORD no less
That He may be glorified
Now has come restoring-tide
