With Nature Once More

My River and I were walking in harmony

On this wonderful chill frosty morning,

The Full Moon guiding me along My Path,

The Glory of Nature surrounding me.

My River so calm and beautiful

In Dawns early light.

I turned found and there it was,

The Sun was lighting the horizon

In bright oranges and yellows.

I was there,

I was there in Natures full glory,

The Moon guiding me,

And the Sun pushing me,

Pushing me into my glorious life.

At peace within myself,

And at one with the Glory of Nature.

    • dusk arising

Wish i had a nearby river. The Severn is a bit of a jaunt away through the city. And of course, your being an inch or two east of me, mornings are earlier for you too.

Nice sunrise pic. Now you need to get on photoshop, or Gimp (freebie) if you don't have photoshop, and sort out that contrast between the sky and land. It's always been a disappointment to me that film or those digital CMOS thingies dont have the bandwidth of the human eye.

      • Goldfinch60

Our daughter lives in Lydney and she often walks or cycles by the Severn.

That picture is the way I saw it, as to using photo enhancing software I do use it to get the picture I want. I have been interested in photography for many, many years. Back in the days of black and white I used to develop and print all my pictures, I was even in at the beginning of colour photography, we had a photographer in the lab where I used to work and we had this new fangled colour photography development system installed. There were four tanks holding about 5 gallons of the developing agents in each tank, it was a long process to develop and print coloured photographs back then, but I was there.

      • Suresh

I can hear the sunrise, painted by your words and photo.

        • Goldfinch60

          Most kind Suresh, thank you.

          • RDS

Nice writing Andy, seems it's a day for Riverside walks and poetic reflections. The moon was shy or you were up much earlier! A peaceful read thanks.

            • Goldfinch60

Thank you RDS. I was up walking at the crack of dawn, as I always am and it was great to see the moon in the lightening blue sky.

            • The Uneducated O.A.P

Great pic Andy, clicked a few, back in the olden days, when I thought I was David Bailey, I don't use photoshop, I'd rather the picture I took, was the picture I took, and modelling agencies should live by that rule too.
Lovely words, I'm there with you.

              • Goldfinch60

                Thank you Bill.
I have been photographing for many years (see my answer to dusk arising) and over the passed few weeks I have been playing around making photographs into artwork. Have a look at the picture I put on my poem 'Nature's Comfort' a few days ago.

                • The Uneducated O.A.P

Will do, got a job keeping up with all the stuff on here at the mo,

                • Fay Slimm.

You verse the sunrise so beautifully Andy - - that poetic walk took me too into the glory of nature.

                  • Goldfinch60

Thank you Fay, Nature's Glory is so wonderful.

                  • L. B. Mek

agree, nothing like that symphony shower of glorious nature to flow and caress your worries away, as it cascades from from eyes and ears to goosebumps and toes,
                    good read Andy,

                    • Goldfinch60

Thank you LB, mature is so wonderful and I become part of nature when I walk with it.
