Tune: Sharpethorne
('What does the Lord require?')
Psalm 107 v.1-9
*********
O give thanks to the LORD
He is good, true His word
His mercy endures e'er
It comes to an end ne'er
Let His redeemed ones say
He has saved us today
Redeemed from out the hand
Of enemies, we stand
Gathered from all the lands
East, west, north, south, in bands
Though one time they wandered
Comfort then not conferred
They in the wilderness
Lonely, hungry no less
And thirsty, soul fainted
Their joy all deflated
Then they to the LORD cried
With them He did reside
They cried in their trouble
LORD, deliver us all
He out of their distress
Took them, and did them bless
O that people would praise
The LORD, His name upraise!
For He does satisfy
The longing soul, He nigh
Shows His goodness, His deeds
Comes to us, meets our needs
Fills the hungry soul, He
Does provide for them, see
