Fay Slimm.

Un-Vocal

Un-Vocal.

A little silence mothers the truth for folk
who dare seek and embrace
the almost heard,
for if not smothered stillness comes close
to beauty of wisdom waiting
underneath sound
to beget more learning than before known.

Only to those who seek calm in un-vocal
can notes of non-sonance
compose relief
and produce mind's needful inner coping
as quietness births alchemy's
halcyon-balm
for healing the core of both heart and soul.

Silence is (sometimes) what we need. In a world full of constant clamour and frenetic motion, we can lose sight of ourselves in the chaos. I am happy with my own silent company, much of the time. Time to reflect and time to appreciate the sights and sounds of nature. Nicely penned.

      • Fay Slimm.

Thanking you Robert for your informative input to my piece on Un-Vocal.

Cor! This made me think about silence, my silence poetically. "Nowt to say, say nowt".

I guess i'm reading into your words somethings i bumped into along the way when the reaction I wanted or expected just wasn't there.... but silence.... a resounding silence was.
Silence said and did so much more than words could have.

This, another of your wonderful pieces which encourage your reader into deep thought and understanding.

        • Fay Slimm.

Silence, not always what it's cracked up to be, see my words today. Part 2 tomorrow.
          Best wishes Bill

Silence? I always talk most wisely with a shut mouth.

Ha - I know what you mean my friend. Sometimes silence speaks loudly.

Yes dear friend - you chose a good word to describe silence for it can have more power than words.

Powerful and hard hitting this write Faye.

The silence is where I find all my answers.
