Women, girls are killed several times,
at different stages of life,
from birth to adulthood,
Motherhood to old age,
murdered, buried, and abused
By the patriarchy.
Forgiveness and mercy is prohibited,
for the second sex.
Women's position tracked by
the preference of son,
From female foeticide to Honor killing,
Female genital mutilation to a virginity test,
Captive sex slaves to trafficking, and forced prostitution,
Domestic violence to rapes,
Disabilities, racism, casteism, and sexism
An abnormality of gender.
Patriarchy is a parasite,
Surviving and legitimizing,
Social norms and codes,
By dehumanizing women.
When asked right of life, speech, and freedom,
voices turned out as a political commitment,
patriarchal nuances and hypocrites,
barking for personal leverages,
by overriding the issues of women,
The patriarchy survives,
and drinking the immortal wine,
by persecuting the voices of dissent,
Raised by women and girls.
Gender equality and Fuck the patriarchy,
The live-long antidote of immortal wine.

You've got my support but sadly it'll take a long time to achieve equality globally as we have first to change entire cultures before we start on the day to day issues - speaking of which I was aware of this when I addressed a card Mr and Mrs - the Mr coming first. Not sure how to 'address' this one 🤔
A fine write thoiugh and keep up the good fight.
Exactly! I am agree with you. Everything is depend on the mentality of the people. We need structural interventions to counter the stereotypes, biases, and sexism.
Thank You so much. Yeah, Sure.
Maria, when you are right, you are right! Well said.
Thank you.
Hang in there, Maria. The patriarchy exists here, there, everywhere. How to change? Perhaps “the inevitability of gradualness“ will be the process , but how to move that along? Only such as yourself, who brings issues to the fore, seeks political change will achieve it.
Regards Dave
It's a long battle. I don't believe that we can eliminate patriarchy within a year or something like that. It's not possible. It doesn't mean we will stop fighting for the cause to bring gender equality. You are right that patriarchy is everywhere in various forms. It survives through the involvement of women itself. But we hardly acknowledge it in our day to day life. Sexism its worst form.
Yeah!
So please keep shouting - and defeat individual retrograde movements as they occur.
But here, at MPS the two majority themes are 'Love' and religion - just don't get drowned out.
Dave
Oh! But love and religion have their own essence of presence.
I too agree with your words Maria, equality should be the norm in all societies.
Being of an age where the patriarchy was strong I have seen it gradually change throughout my life but it is taking such a long time but it will happen and strong people like yourself will make it so.
Yes! I agree with you. We all need to fight for a long. Our efforts can make each other's life better. Poetry is not just a way to express what you feel and notice but also to build a framework of consciousness in our minds. The journey of change starts from the self.
Thank You.
more equity than equality, because truth be said in almost all things that truly matter: woman are indeed the 'fairer sex' (look up its true meaning, before reacting - please),
in the words of Macklemore:
'No freedom till we're (all) equal
damn right I support it!',
an impassioned write jampacked with reasoned argument and fervent belief: more power to you,
although I'll just add: just try to remember, there's a few decent samples of the opposite sex that have and continue-to support woman,
let's try to ease away from that corrosive 'all hate' mentality, that's becoming a catalyst for those worryingly polarising mindsets within society, find a path that will allow us to fight from the same trenches: I beg...
Hey Maria - apologies for the long gap - the Festive Season intervened.
Two points:
- In response to my comment you stated 'love and religion have their own essence of presence.' Sounds poetical, and as i'm not a poet of metaphysics or metaphor, could you explain in more detail?
- A response to L.B. would be good; Perhaps he over complicates sometimes, but he always has valid points to make in there somewhere...
(Sorry L.B. I hope no offense)
