To my child

arobot

To my child

I beg your pardon,  my child

That I brought you into the wild

A world so insecure and insane

Without your consent or askance

It was all I desired and required

To which you had never aspired

I owe you endless love, my whole heart

All devotion and dedication that could be

cause you are my lifes inseparable part

Of Body and soul, virtually another me

With all I have, I have done all I could

But still,  I cant make it as it should

It is grace that we have come thus far

I ask for nothing else but your happiness

With you I hold on and grow ever so strong

I thank you for carrying on with me along

This is a beautiful dedication to your child. Speaks of unconditional love and commitment in this unsecured world, as you say. Wonderful piece.

  • Fay Slimm.

A perceptively expressed understanding of love which a caring father verses here and which surely will be treasured by his growing child. Thank you for sharing it with us arobot

So very true Arobot. All we can do for our children is the best we can and hope that their lives progress with love and wonder.

    just Wow!
reading your words is like reading that first and most earnest mantra of any worthwhile parent,
how we all quickly forget the wonderous majesty within that first breath...
    Happy holidays

  • Samer Amin

    Just a wonderful poem!

It can express honestly the intermingled feelings between love and concern pertaining to our beloved ones.

As well as, the mutual emotional support that could be engendered between the inseparably connected hearts.
