Tune: Bread of Life
('Break thou the bread of life, dear Lord to me')
*********
In meditation sweet, here at your feet
Lord, we do contemplate, you do us greet
Recalling your Supper, Communion
Shared with forgiven sinners, e'en each one
Lamb of God, God's own Son, this your name be
Your sacrifice, offering, it for me
Your life laid down that we so may be saved
The Way to God, you alone it have paved
Of olden times* animals sacrificed (*Old Covenant days)
For sin, in those days offerings sufficed
But now animals saved too, for you do
Bring in the days of your Covenant New
Lamb of God, innocent, spotless, we muse
Here a plain Way to see with no confuse
Like lamb to slaughter you meekly did go
That salvation, forgiveness we might know
Eating of the bread, drinking of the wine
We shall not find a feast more fairer, fine
Bread of Life, Water of Life, you sustain
Through your mercies we eternal life gain

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you Steven ... I was typing my comments here an hour or so ago when my PC started to play up ... the letter ''a' kept typing itself repeatedly and no matter what I tried, it just kept on aaa'ing .. even when my wife tried on her pages the same think kept happening ... I seriously thought I had a virus .... well not me exactly but .. I'm sure you know what I mean ...
Anyway only after shutting down several times and getting more and more frustrated, I checked the mouse and keyboard and found the letter a had got stuck ....
Phew ... now sorted .. problem is, I can't remember what I wanted to say in thee first place ... Neville
Thanks N. If it had been the letter 'z' I may have thought you had dozed off reading poems! zzzzzzzzzzz.
