AIM HIGH
I’ve always aimed for the top of the tree
For that’s the only place for me
Since, when all is done and said,
I don’t want the tree on top of my head.

Very true Michael, we must always try to achieve the best we can in life.

Good write and pic M.
Ha - Agreed that is the place to be - - and wishing you ever to be on top in the clear air - -- thanks for the first smile of my day again Mike -and for another breathtaking view of your talented artwork.
I though this was going to be a peeing contest when i read the title.
I found a place of comfort far from such dizzy heights accepting them as unattainable in light of the unprincipled enthusiasm of others.
It could well be a contest - if you're at the top of the tree you've got a great advantage.
This brought to mind one of Roger McGough's short, witty poems:
MISSED
out of work
divorced
usually pissed
he aimed
low in life
and
------------- missed.

Thanks for the smile, Michael!
Now he is one of my favourites - along with the likes of John Hegley.
Cheers Robert.
that cynic within
is usually more concerned
with those tremors of life
that come long, dumping
me from wherever
I happen to be perched...
a good read Michael
Another fine water color and a really cool poem Michel
And where do you think I am going on that picture of mine? Also, the view is much better from the top.
Love that poem!
