capt. Sir Tom

dusk arising

I heard last night
capt Sir Tom Moore
is hospitalised with covid.
This giving gentle man,
our nations hero, smitten
with this terrible ailment.
A tear falls and my heart
goes out to him and his carers
as I'm sure do so many others
in our nation, his nation.

And now we hear the very sad news of his demise. Was I the only one upon a doorstep at six pm to sound posthumous applause at the behest of our P.M.... i heard no other.

I couldn't abide by that 6pm stipulation, sometimes despite our best intentions life gets in the way...
Yet, I consider those mournful thoughts I have had and will continue to - for a few more weeks at least, as my soul: clapping to the beat of my sympathetic heart and in that - at least, I can claim to have celebrated and grieved what this kind person represented, both in life and will certainly continue to represent/inspire in others for as long as we choose to remember.
capt. Sir Tom Moore the epitome: of Dylan Thomas' words
'Do not go gentle into that good night'...

                  Amen!

I pray for all Covid victims and their caretakers.
