PAST DREAMS
In channels long since worn and lost
and damp with dew in lingering light
the truant memories soon return
imbibed the scene and hour in dreams.
A place to dance with mystic joy
to notes that rise in furtive winds
ascending the empyrean
where reconstructed worlds reside.
Within the realms of heavens arms
excursive instincts soon foregone
the images with broken wings
fall back to land with early light.

May those dreams reach that empyrean height and become real.
Andy
They became real 55 years ago when I met Jeanne.
And may they last forever as mine do with Joyce.

a wonderful work of art Michael.
Thanks aDM - one of a series ready for when those exhibitions restart - if they ever will.
Good write and pic M.

Michael, you did it again! You mesmerize us with images and words! A rare and beautiful combination.
You're too kind Fred how are things where you are?
Can't complain. I am still working and got my first Pfizer shot. Second one to come early April. That alone is taking a load off my mind. Hope you are doing OK!
I'm in the same position - big relief. Now I want to see the travel industry recover in time for next winter's ski season.
Your artistic words lure this reader to join in those scenic dreams my friend - a delightful read and wondrousl images.
Thanks Fay - I'm now back to painting village scenes thanks to an upsurge in commissions.
had to reread your poems 4 or 5 times, such a natural flow and subtly worded hints of insightful commentary, wrapped tight within immersive imagery of art and poetry..
a great write Michael,
You're very kind - this one took ages - it was in the pending box for a couple of weeks and still might make some adjustments.
Dreams are serene and more so when they become reality- as so poetically romanticized by you
Thanks so much - we can but dream.
