Don't forget me

Masking

Please don't forget me,
As you wander on your way.
For I have felt a simple thing,
That will not go away.
It isn't what you might think,
From the way that we crossed paths.
But it's important just know that,
As your on your way.
Please don't forget me,
As you wander on your way.
For I have felt a simple thing,
That will not go away.
And it may be so selfish,
To finish singing these words.
But please don't forget me,
As you wander on.
As the times make their way,
I am slowly reminded.
Of bits and pieces of my life,
Ones I hold dear.
Do you perhaps remember me,
And what I gave to you.
If so I'll die happy,
Even if your gone.
Please don't forget me,
As you wander on your way.
For I have felt a simple thing,
That will not go away.
And it may be so selfish,
To finish singing these words.
But please don't forget me,
As you wander on.

The way you repeated the lines, and the mention of singing, makes me think this was a song with the music stripped away. If not, it totally could be.
