Once upon a time
I knew nothing of love
Then suddenly
It was all I could think of
It was like
The world’s greatest dream
I was lost in her smile
Paradise, or so it seemed
Swiftly, my heart knew
Something had changed
As a boy of only ten
My life’s purpose rearranged
I knew then
The feeling of love
How it surrounded me
Completely like a glove
Someday we’ll both walk
In Heaven’s garden above
And she will have read
All my words of love
For the rest of my days here
To her my heart will send
The dream of love in my heart
A dream with no end

- Comment from author about the poem: I have a list of my favorite love songs that I've put together totaling to 290 songs (so far). And every one of them bring happy thoughts of Sharon. This song by Todd Rundgren is one of them, as are most of the love songs I put with my poems.

So true and that penultimate stanza is so true for me.

Thanks for the read Andy. Loving another person is the greatest gift to oneself.
Good write AP.
I won't sing it - that will spoil it! heehee.
Make a video of yourself singing to KP.
